Hi all, it’s me. I’m alive. We’ve been working so hard on our house/yard I haven’t had anytime to play. Sewing is my play. I’ve missed it crazy bad.
Today I’m going to share with you some of my recent projects. I’ve been blogging in one form or another for ages. One thing I have really been not so great at is branding. Over the past few months I’ve really tried to step that up. I now have tags, stickers, and three different size and style tags with my logo. Still working on business cards, but we are getting there. These tags are my favorite! The other two sizes (one is a clothing tag and the other is a fold over tag) and printed. I 100% prefer the woven tags from Wovenlabelhk.com. They’re so much more legit, which in turn makes me as a maker feel so much more legit. Funny how that works.
I like the added touch they give to my projects like this Aztec deer baby blanket I recently made. The fabulous fabrics in this quilt are by Art Gallery. I’ve been hoarding them for a while. I find pretty fabrics I really love so much harder to cut into.
I’ve found the fold-over tags to be a bit tricky. When sewing them into the side seam, I’ve had the issue with either leaving to much of the tag sticking out or not enough and cutting off the top of the logo. I guess there’s an art to it I haven’t perfected yet. Or I forget to add the tag in before sewing the seams. Frustrating. I really prefer the end fold flat lay labels.
So I tried the flat lay woven label on the back of my Zippy Critter, too.
I’ve been adding them to my tote bags as well. I’ve made a ton of these totes. For reals, a ton. I find them addictive to make and a fabulous gift to give. The PDF pattern is called the Tessa Basket by Green Letter Day. Love it. Wovenlabelhk let’s you custom order the size you want. Mine are 50mm wide and have fit a range of projects.
Hoping to have more time to sew again soon. Life is wonderful when filled with creative sewing goodness. It’ll also be great to have a yard for my children to play in and a clean project free house. Ha!
