Sew Off Project #2- Halloween Table Runner
It’s that time again. Week two of the four-week-long Sew Off. This week’s challenge was home decor. I really struggled with this one. I started two projects before taking on this one. It was a crazy week and last night was a late one…but it’s done. Hallelujah. I’d be extra thankful if you’d go and vote for my project (#9 )- VOTE HERE.
I have an issue when it comes to collecting Halloween Fabrics. I’d say at least a fourth of my nice-sized collection of fabric is for this spook-tacular holiday. I always have the best of intentions to make holiday decor each year but it seems to slip by without being accomplished. So why not start in April?
I love to applique and I adore these cute little characters. I cut them out using my Cricut and then sewed each piece on. The three guys on bottom are from Mini Monsters and the spider is from Create-a-Critter 2.
The “Happy Halloween” was cut out of freezer paper and then, using that as my stencil, painted on. It’s backed in a solid black and has a layer of batting to give it some structure. I hand-stitched some of the details on my little guys as well. Hope you dig them as much as I do!
