Funny Face Treat Boxes
Today I am teaming up with Oriental Trading and making some funny face treat boxes we’ll be handing out in my son’s first grade class for his birthday. I thought they’d be a fun way to give the kids a treat and a toy. The mustaches are whistles and the nose is a bouncy ball. Let me show you how to make your own funny face fellas.
- Popcorn box
- Mustache lip whistles (they also have lips, my son just chose the mustaches)
- Bouncy ball
- Eye swirl pop suckers
- Hot glue gun/glue
Take your popcorn box and measure down one inch from the top. Cut a rectangle approximately the size of your whistle.
Insert your whistle just to make sure it fits and then set it aside.
Grab two of your suckers, the tape, and your popcorn box.
Place an eye inside the popcorn box between your rectangle cutout and the edge of the box. Place on piece of tape towards the bottom of your stick and one on top making sure not to cover your rectangle cutout. Do the same with the other eye on the other end.
Put your mustache back in place and fill the box with the treat of your choice. This will help the front-heavy box to stay standing.
Now take your hot glue gun and your bouncy ball. Put a small circle of glue on the back of the ball and place it above the mustache. It comes off quite easily and the glue sticks to the box when the kids want to play with them.
And that’s it. Easy peasy and I’m sure the six- and seven-year-old kiddies will dig them. Also, please note that not all cotton candy is created equal. My parents have a cotton candy machine that makes big beautiful fluffy cotton candy. This stuff was from a bag. Not big, beautiful, or fluffy. Lame.
