Today, I’m sewing along with One Thimble using a couple of the patterns from Issue 11 of their magazine. I had a ton of fun sewing together these felt puzzle animals by Felt With Love Designs. I embellished mine with faces and spots and such.
They came together quickly and would make great gift for little ones. Heck, my nine year old asked me if she could keep the unicorn for herself too. They break down for easy storage. There are eight animals in all: a lion, giraffe, rhino, octopus, alligator, turtle, unicorn, and elephant.
I also sewed up a second pattern from the magazine, the Cross Over Flounce Dress by Call Ajaire. It has an overlapping skirt and the option of either cap sleeves or long sleeves and ranges from newborn to size twelve. Did I mention the dress is reversible, too? I tacked the top skirt on my dress so you could see the Care Bear underneath better.
The fabric I used was the leftover vintage sheet I bought for my daughters Care Bear birthday party. Guess you can tell which one is my favorite bear. 🙂
My little girl was so excited I was making her a dress. I had it on my dress form and she kept asking me, “That my dress? I wear it?” After I put it on her we went outside so she could test out its twirl-ability.
Here’s a list of all the other bloggers to check out who are participating in this weeks blog tour and a preview of some of the other patterns in this issue.
